CD Replication is a process, which is geared towards orders of high volume, manufacturing anything from 1,000 to 1, 00,000 CD – ROMs. In this technique, the disc is pressed from a glass master and the artwork is directly printed onto the glass surface. A reflective layer of aluminum is coated on the back surface, which allows the CD’s laser player to read it. The face of the disc is then silk printed or litho printed using CMYK or pantone colour values. DVD duplication means that the disc will be burned from CD-R or DVD-R formats and a paper label is used to print the artwork, which is then applied on to the disc surface.
