CD Replication – An Effective Process of Replicating CDs in Bulk

CD replication is the process of manufacturing small polycarbonate beads into a compact disc which is exactly same as the original CD. This is the only method for producing genuine retail quality CDs. The process is mainly used by recording industry to create and release albums by music artists. It is a very accurate and automated method and orders can be completed and delivered within a short span of time. As CDs are mass produced, they become very cost effective.

Information sharing is very important in today’s world and CDs have become an effective digital medium of storing data. In order to manufacture large volume of CDs, the CD replication process is done with a glass master of the information. Once the process of glass master is completed, layers of polycarbonate plastic are then used to protect the data. The CD is then screened and tested for its quality and then packed for distribution. In the mastering part of the process, other copies are replicated from the original master disc. The glass master is then created from the original master disc, which is used to manufacture the stamps. The next process is the injection moulding step. In order to generate identical copies of the original master disc, the stamps utilize high tech injection moulding. The preliminary master copy then undergoes the stage of finalization where the disc is coated with reflective aluminium and lacquer to help protect its surface and preserve the data stored. The CD then is ready for label printing.
